The Sacraments

The Sacraments were divinely instituted by Christ and are conveyed by the Church’s historical tradition; in their substance they are fixed, but in their outward ceremonies they are uncountable and fluid; they relate more to the Church’s oral tradition, which is the actual life lived by the Church, than to the Church’s written traditions and dogmatic definitions.
