2. John Paul II, the prophet and the pontiff of the cult of Man
On October 16, 1978, John Paul II appeared for the first time on the loggia of Saint-Peter’s. Then began one of the longest pontificates in history in the course of which the doctrinal errors of Vatican II were disseminated throughout the Church, spreading confusion, provoking the dechristianisation of the West and, elsewhere, a slowing down of missionary activity.
The Reparatory Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
On December 10, 1925, Our Lady of Fatima appeared to Sister Lucy and, beside Her, borne by a luminous cloud, the Child Jesus. The Most Blessed Virgin showed her a Heart encircled by thorns which She was holding in Her hand : “ Behold, My daughter, My Heart surrounded by thorns with which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and their ingratitude. You at least try to console Me. ” Then the Most Blessed Virgin taught her what she should do to console Her. Will you also, at least you, make these acts of reparation to remove the thorns with which ungrateful men pierce the Immaculate Heart of Mary at every moment ?
1.1. Hell Exists, and We Could Go There.
The Secret of Fatima opens with the terrifying vision of Hell, which reminds us right away of the only thing that counts: our eternity. Even more than the prediction of famines, wars and persecutions, this reminder of an eternity in Hell is one of the most important truths of our Catholic Faith that Our Lady of Fatima wished to recall to our apostate world.
2.1 Before and after Fatima: The Dawn of Salvation
In six months, the Immaculate did what neither the monarchy nor the Church had been able to do in over a century: Since 1917, “ a special blessing of God has descended on the land of Portugal. The violent cycle of religious persecution has stopped and a new epoch of pacification of consciences and Christian restoration has opened,” said Cardinal Cerejeira.
1.6 The Great Promise of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at Pontevedra
“ God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart.” A little devotion is enough to procure infallibly for us the grace of eternal salvation! Giving careful study to such a magnificent promise is worth the effort. It is the perfect expression of this first part of the great Secret, which is entirely concerned with the salvation of souls.
2.6. The Great Revelation of Tuy: God Asks for the Consecration of Russia
In 1929, the intervention of God at Tuy to deliver Russia from diabolical possession, takes on enormous importance. In fact, the revelation of Tuy crowns the cycle of the apparitions of Fatima by a spectacular theophany, for which no comparable example can be found in the entire history of the Church since the apparition to Saint Paul at Damascus.
3.1. “Now Is the Hour of God’s Justice over the World!”
The year 1939 saw the approval of the reparatory devotion. In 1940, Sister Lucy wrote her letter to Pope Pius XII and in 1941, her two most important Memoirs. She had perfectly fulfilled her mission. Now it was the hierarchy’s turn to act. Would the Secret be disclosed? Would Russia be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart? Everything depended on the Holy Father.
3.2. Towards the Consecration of the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
In 1938, Cardinal Pacelli had blessed at Rome the mosaic of the crowning of Our Lady, destined for the basilica of Fatima. What did he think of Our Lady’s Apparitions and messages on March 2, 1939, when he received the office of Supreme Pastor? Many indications suggested that he might receive Our Lady of Fatima’s requests more favourably than his predecessor.
